Sister Kristine Hall on game show

Sister Kristine Darlene Cantrell Hall was chosen as a contestant on the popular television game show The Price Is Right. She will appear on the program October 19. Hall believes she is the first deaf contestant ever to share the stage with host Drew Carey.

The show will air on CBS (channel 9 in the Washington, D.C. area) at 11 a.m. Tune in to find out if Hall goes home with the grand prize!

Sister Shelby Jean Christian Kubis, 70, a retired Kendall Demonstration Elementary School teacher, died on September 24, 2009 in The Villages after suffering long illness.

Sister Shelby was born in Virginia, attended Virginia School for the Deaf, and taught many years at Kendall.  Sister Shelby Jean Christian Kubis entered PKZ in the fall of 1960 and graduated from Gallaudet University in 1963.

Sister Shelby lived in Maryland, New York, Delaware and at last in Florida. She is survived by her husband, John J. Kubis, of 44 years, two daughters: Janel Mumford and Joanie Kruger, two grandchildren, and her sister-in-law: Marie Benz.
